Elsa Baughman |
Co-founder of the Mississippi Hispanic Association (MHA) and member of the board.
She has lived in Mississippi since 1978 and is from Venezuela. She is married to Brian Baughman and has two daughters, Carla, 26, who
lives in Atlanta, Ga., and Veronica, 22, who is a senior at The University of Southern Mississippi, (USM)
Mrs. Baughman studied at the University of Zulia (Universidad del Zulia) in Maracaibo, Venezuela and received a degree in journalism. In
1978 she got a master’s degree in Mass Communications from The University of Southern Mississippi, USM.
Presently, she is office manager of Mississippi Catholic, the newspaper of the Catholic Diocese of Jackson, and writes for both the
English and Spanish editions.
